How long is a full day?
A full day is 8 hours. Depending on your engineer’s ear stamina, there is flexibility to push to 10 hours. Additional engineering fee may apply if the engineer sees fit.
What should I do if I don’t know an engineer?

How do I schedule a session?

Please note that your session is not confirmed until we receive full payment.
Do you offer mixing/mastering at a per/song basis?
We generally book per hour rather than service, so whatever you can get done in the time you have booked is what you get. However, some projects make sense to bill at a per song rate so we are open to discussion! Please reach out to discuss further details.
Can I reschedule once my session is confirmed?
We can only accommodate one reschedule per session if we are notified at least a week in advance. We get it though, sometimes stuff comes up!
If you need to reschedule under a week in advance for extenuating and unforeseen circumstances such as hospitalization, tragedy in family/friends, motor vehicle accident, we can discuss options.
If you need to reschedule day of because of illness or someone else cancelled on you, we can work out a partial refund to at least compensate the staff who prepped for the session.
Does the studio store our sessions?
We do not. You are responsible for your own session backups. Please come prepared and with your own hard drive or other storage device. Some of our engineers might keep their own backups of the session but it is not our responsibility to provide storage of your session.
What happens if we pay for a full day and only use a half day?
Studio time does not rollover for future sessions or ‘credit’ please bring extra material or plan accordingly.
Can I book a 1 hour session?
We get this question a lot :) For music related sessions we have a 4-hour minimum time requirement due to the time it takes for set up, break down, and delivery files.
The absolute time minimum we can accommodate is 2 hours if it is for Voice Over and other non-intensive set ups. Ideally theses sessions will be scheduled before noon (to allow for other sessions to take place that day at a somewhat reasonable hour) but we can be flexible if needed.
How does payment and cancellation work?
Payment in-full is required in order to hold dates. without payment your dates may be given away.
A full refund will be issued for any cancellation 31 days or more prior to the session.
A 50% refund will be issued for any cancellation 15-30 days prior to the session.
A 25% refund will be issued for any cancellation 7-15 days.
No refund will be issued for any cancellation week of. If you or your client does not show up to the session, you will forfeit 100% of the session cost.
Our engineers come in before and stay after sessions to set up and break down and we want to properly compensate them for their labor even when the client cancels last minute. Also our scheduling is very intensive to properly hold time for everyone who needs it!
Can I check the studio out before booking a session?

Is Studio B bookable?
Studio B is usually locked out by Patrick Brown and Text Me Records. However, it can be made available given adequate notice and if Patrick is able to accommodate. Please reach out to us via email at differentfurinfo@gmail.com if you’d like to check availability.
Is the piano tuned?
Yep! However, we recommend arranging for a tuning before your session if your session is piano-centric. An extra $150 fee is applied to the invoice.
Can I book last minute?
Please do your best to schedule your session at least 2-3 weeks in advance. We try our best to accommodate last minute bookings when possible. The hourly rate for 8+ hour sessions booked 24 hours in advance is $125/hour. Full payment is required before the session begins or you will be subject to our “After Pay” policy (see below).
How do I send payment & will I receive an invoice?
Our preferred method of payment is Zelle, however we also accept Venmo, Paypal, and ACH Wire transfers (fee applies). Please let us know if you would like an invoice and/or proof of payment.
What is your policy for sessions paid via PO or after the session takes place?
Sessions that are booked without full pre-payment confirmation is considered an “After Pay” session and is subject to our After Pay policy.
Payment must be delivered within 30 days of the session start date (Net 30).
We require all After Pay sessions to sign our payment agreement contract.
If the client fails to pay for the session cost in full 30 days after the session start date we will charge a $400 fee every 7 days the invoice (and applicable late fees) are unpaid.
As a Net 30 or After Pay session you will forfeit 100% of the session cost if you cancel your session within 30 days of the date,
If you or your client does not show up to the session, you will forfeit 100% of the session cost.
