How long is a day?
A day is roughly 10 hrs.

What should I do if I don’t know an engineer?
Ask our Studio Manager Jorge. He’s here to help and will be glad to point you in the right direction.

How do I schedule a session?

We are happy to put your desired dates on hold for a couple of days, however sessions are only confirmed once we receive a full deposit.

Do you offer mixing at a per/song basis?
We do.

What if I have to cancel?
Cancellation within 1 month of your session is an automatic forfeit of deposit.  Rescheduling is okay, but only once. Repeated cancellations and rescheduling won’t be accommodated.  We get it, sometimes stuff comes up, however we all have hectic schedules and bills to pay. Last minute cancellations make it difficult to fill the space meaning the studio and its engineers lose time and money.

Does the studio store our sessions?
No. You are responsible for your own session backups.  Please come prepared and with your own hard drive or other storage device.  Some of our engineers will keep their own backups of the session but it is not our responsibility to provide storage of your session.  We simply do not have the space.

What happens if we pay for a full day and only use a half day? Studio Time does not rollover for future sessions or ‘credit’ please bring extra material or plan accordingly.

Payment?
1. payment in-full is required in order to hold dates. without payment your dates may be given away.
2. a full refund will be issued for any cancellation 30 days or more prior to the session
3. a 50% refund will be issued for any cancellation 15-30 days prior to the session
4. typically we will allow one reschedule of a session out of the understanding that we want everything to work out to everyones advantage, but reserve the right not to reschedule should we see fit.

Can I check the studio out before booking a session?
Of course and we think you’ll really like us. Please arrange a tour.

Is Studio B bookable?
It is on permanent lock out by Text Me Records. However, we do let people book in there depending on the availability. Contact Patrick for booking inquiries for this studio.

Can I record to tape?
Yes. We have Studer 2″ 24 track and Studer 1/2″ or 1/4″ 2 track. Please let us know ahead of time what sizes, speeds, and type of tape you’d like to use so our tech can align the machines properly. Your invoice will include all tech fees. The Tape Rental Fee is $150.00/session which includes a 2 in. tape and tape alignment. If you are bringing reels from another studio please make sure they include the following test tones:

  1. 60 Seconds of 1khz

  2. 30 Seconds of 10khz

  3. 30 Seconds of 15khz

  4. 30 Seconds of 100hz

  5. 30 Seconds of 50hz

All tape must be purchased separately by the individual but please discuss your tape stock with us ahead of time.

What happens if I accidentally break something in the studio?
If you break it, you bought it…. or will be charged to fix it.

Is the piano tuned?
The honest answer is… sometimes. We strongly recommend arranging for a piano tuning before the session. Extra fees are applied to the invoice (est. $150).   We also recommend coming in and playing the piano if you intend to use it in the session.  It works for some and not for others, it all just depends on the type of sound you are looking for.
