Last week, The Trims released their new music video for “3 AM” – the first video from their latest EP, Bright Lights City. “3 AM” and “Friend to Follow” were both engineered by Nic Pope. It boasts striking visuals not unlike other videos directed by Element 151’s Frank Door – saturated in deep hues only accentuating the dark new wave tones of the song.
Bright Lights City, released this past fall is the third release from The Trims, following up last year’s Cut to Fit EP and full length We Cried for Fun. This EP further refines their dance-punk sound that has become a staple in the South Bay music scene. Seemingly taking notes from acts like The Bravery and Echo & The Bunnymen – the band provides shadowy yet energetic songs from start to finish. With the video aptly depicting “3 AM” with strobing lights and fishnetted thighs, the track pulls Bright Lights City together with bouncy basslines and mesmerizing vocals.
Catch The Trims live at Bottom of the Hill this Friday December 21st with Scissors for Lefty and Solwave. Get tickets here.
