Formed at Leeds University by three Fine Art, and one English Lit major, and a handful of hallucinogens, UK band, Alt-J, have been touring nonstop and are playing at The Rickshaw Stop this Thursday at 9pm. Being released in the U.S. on September 13, the debut album, An Awesome Wave, showcases their unique, self described “folk-step” sound. Incorporating synths, guitar, drums, in addition to hip hop vocal rhythms and harmonies into their music, it’ll be a treat to see it all come together on stage.
