At 62 years of age and considered a soul legend, it seems as if Lee Fields’ musical career is still gaining momentum. Performing as Lee Fields & The Expressions, Field’s soulful voice is as sweet as it is sultry. With an impressive discography and a musical career that spans over 4 decades, it’s no surprise Pitchfork described his music as “throwback done right.”
Getting the evening started are “the bay area’s most sought after rhythm section,” The Park. The Park will surely get the crowd movin’ with their rock/hip hop sound and energetic live performance. Rumor has it, they will also be selling their new 7″ Silver Time Cloud Machine featuring Darondo and Happy Mayfield.
Due to Fields’ long awaited return to SF in over 5 years, Friday’s show has inevitably sold out. If you didn’t grab a ticket in time, check out his performance of “Faithful Man” recorded at this year’s SXSW.
