Woody Guthrie inspired super-group composed of Yim Yames (My Morning Jacket), Jay Farrar (Son Volt), Will Johnson (Centro-Matic), and Anders Parker (Varnaline), recently came into the Different Fur Studios to record 4 songs for Daytrotter.
Performing songs from their album New Multitudes, and tracked by guest engineer Shawn Biggs with assistant Nic Pope, the stripped down, exclusive versions offer an intimate listen to Woody Guthrie’s previously unrecorded lyrics. Gaining inspiration from the Guthrie archives and utilizing the musical talent of the four members, arose a collection of songs that emit the candid, timeless approach of Americana music.
